Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club. Curtin Prom Nite 2008.

This year's Masquerade Nite cum Prom Nite 2008 was held in Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club, Miri. The venue was an high end club in the middle of a enourmous country club. Upon arriving at the club, groups of masked ladies and gentlemen were seen in their formal and elegant atires.

The theme of recent prom was "Night of Elegance". Each tickets were priced at Rm50 inclusive of dinner and a complimentary cocktail or wine with your choice.

As the clock hits 6p.m the sun began to set and the exterior lightings of the club triggered the asthetic atmosphere, setting unforgettable scenery to commemorate the Masquerade Nite.

Complimentary cocktail. It was sweet with a bit of orange and cherry flavour.

Everyone was waiting at the exterior bistro before the commencement of the dinner at the Grand Ball.

Three hot & cold prosperity plate. [Scallop, fried spring rolls, and jelly fish.]
Next was Braised fish lips with shark fin soup.
However, I missed the chance to photograph it since I went to the washroom .

Mongolian Style Fried Lamb.

Seasonal fish steamed with Tom Yam sauce..
The Masquerade Nite was a spectacular event. It was organized perfectly, the food was "finger linkin good" and the performances was awesome.

Nikko Japanese Restaurant.

Yesterday, Leo Club of Curtin University had a reunion at Nikko Japanese Restaurant for an appreciation dinner dedicated to the committee members of Leo Club Orientation Day 2008 and Environmental Project 2008 as a recognition to their efforts and commitments in the projects.

Nikko Japanese Restaurant is one of the best outlet in Miri that serves Japanese Cruisine. It had a nice interior eluded with nice lighting ambient. Nikko is a suitable spot to impress your date with a euphoric dinner and an excellent spot for family gathering.
The service was quite good. We had waitress filling our cups every now and then. which continues to the end of the dinner.

Everyone us (Lions and Leos) had a thrilling and tremendous dinner.

We had our Past District Governor from Labuan with us as our special guest for tonight's dinner.

..posting with the chef.

Jie Ning attempting to slice one of us for her sushi. :P

Proficient committee members that shaped every possiblity to stive for the success of Orientation Day 2008.

Daph and Jin Yi join in for the photoshot.

Overall, we had estatic and joyful dinner. The management of Nikko will be laughing their way to bed tonight having to know that they are cashing in a huge sum as we (30 people) spent around Rm2100.00++ for this meal. Well, as the saying goes "work hard and play hard" in our case, its work hard, eat hard.

CGS Vegetarian Cafe.

CGS is an vegetarian eating establishment located near Boulevard Shopping Mall, Miri. CGS chinese name Chai Gen Xiang (Vege Smell Nicer - direct translation from Mandarin). Next to these establishment is another vegetarian outlet. (Honey Vegetarian). Dhiren texted me this morning to invite me for a journey to town. And we decided to have vegetarian lunch together.

Ahbi came alone with us too. It was around lunch time and we were all hungry and craving for food so we decided to scout for outlets around town area. I went there for lunch this afternoon with Dhiren & Ahbi. We were amazed with thickness and the varieties of CGS's menu book. The establishment has great deal of delicacies to choose from their menu. They serve noodle, rice, side dishes and even Western cuisine.

Dhiren requested for "San Se Fan" - Three Coloured Rice which comprises of 3 kinds of pork. Char Siu Pork, "Lu" pork (Stewed) and ham . Rm 4.30

I had "Hei Jiao Ya Fan" - Black Pepper Duck Rice. Rm 4.30

Ahbi are more to spicy food so the waitress recommended "Yue Nan Ji Fan" - Vietnamese Chicken Rice. Rm 5.30
We agreed that Ahbi's rice set was the best of all sets that we ordered. The chicken meat tasted absolute delicious and trust me you would not be able to distinguish it from the real chicken meat from this vegetarian chicken.

Braised Tofu as our side order.

CGS's braised tofu contains deep fried bean curd braised with black fungus, cabbage and a bit of cabbage in soy sauce. Rm 5.30
I really savoured the food in CGS Vegetarian Cafe. The price was reasonable too. They received two thumbs up from me and I definitely returning to CGS to try out more of their dishes. This is my second endeavour for vegetarian food and I'm beginning to love them.

Truly missed childhood memories

I remember this was one of the product that my mum prohibits me to buy. Tora-

Gaming Arcade :) I used to play this before. Like.

Don't recall seeing this. but I was a die-hard fan of "Back To the Future" cartoon series.

This poster that taught me to be as polite as I'm today. :P haha

Ah... Flaggie.. I had 5 boxes (50 pcs per box) of these flagged erasers.. My classmates and I used to play with them during the the-days.

Go! Go! Power Rangers.. I just can't imagine seeing this pictures again.. In my primary school days... I was loyal follower of this episode.. I would seat down on the sofa, waiting the clock ticks 5 p.m. to catch Rangers in action. Doing this for everyday, of every week! Haha..

Typical pencil boxes that nearly every pupils in my class were using.. Ya.. I used to own one too..

Hmm... I don't really like these erasers.. It's kind of girly..

Never use this, I suck at arts. My grade for Pendidikan Seni was always C & D. Hmmph! I hated my art teacher for that grades.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how i wonder where you are..up above the sky so high.."
My cousin used to play me a song from her piano which looks exactly like this piano!

I rared several "fighting fish" as what they used to call it.

Jelly, liked.

Liked, still likes.

Cards. Dislike.

Dislike.

Dislike.

Used to play. Dislike it.

Like. Still like.

Liked it when I was young.

Mario!!. My first video games that I humbly admit that I had mastered all the levels. Challenge me if you want ! haha.

My favourite toys. I was never allowed to purchase them because my aunties...and uncless....told me that if I get a (toy)gun "Police will come and catch you"...
And I was too naive to believe them.. *sweats*
When I entered Primary 6 then I learnt that the story was not real.. How, innocent was I..

TRANssssssssFOrmer In Disguise!! LOVED, LOVE, STILL LOVING IT.

Almost too hot for words.
Hotforwords has been going on hot and burning up in the youtube realm. This video channel is hosted by a russian blonde, Marina Orlova.
Whether anyone is learning anything is another point. But they are flocking to her website and videos, although whether they are more eager to view the teacher or learn words meanings is unclear. As of this writing, over 74 million people have watched Marina discuss words and their meaning. Of course, put a scantily clad woman in front of a video camera, one with a site called Hot for Words and you have controversy. But Marina seems bent on proving that she is not just hot... but truly hot for words as well. Being sexy and intelligent is certainly a contrast to the "dumb blonde" image that seems to be a cultural stereotype. Marina doesn't seem dumb. If anything, she has learned how to make both herself and the study of words quite popular and her strategy seems to be paying off.

Bewildered and perplexed. What the rat ? The Raw Oyster I had in Salut..

How Can She Slap?
I thought Japanese game shows were entertaining, but this one takes the cake.
There's this game show in India called Dadagiri. Contestants have to survive three rounds of insults by the show's bullies and compete against each other to win 50,000 Rupees (RM4,000) in cash prize.
The woman in the video is Esha The Goddess - the self-proclaimed "meanest, nastiest girl from college" and quite possibly the Indian version of Xiaxue.
Her job is to put down the contestants and she particularly hates people with ugly faces.
Part One: Watch this first. It's in English. (1 min)
So in this particular episode, Esha yelled against one male contestant. She slapped him. HE SLAPPED HER BACK. She took it like a man. Meanwhile the whole entire 65,374 crew members surrounded the male contestant and proceeded to rip his non-existent balls out while he cried like a bitch.
Part Two. The Slap. (2 min)
If this is not TV gold, I don't know what is.
I have only one thing to say after watching the clip.
How can she slap? HOW CAN SHE SLAP?

What's for dinner? Burger Monster.
I remember I went to Siamese Restaurant Miri to ate a king-sized burger and thought this could fit my appetite tonight.
Thus the appetite burst in my stomach prompted me to craft a ................ burger monster. +-).
Here's how it was custom made.
Mix broth - soy, salt, sugar, garlic and black pepper in dish. Add chicken thigh and turn it to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Pre-heat the pan with some extra virgin olive oil.. well, u could use any kinds of cooking oil to your preference..
Remove chicken thigh from marinade and shake off excess; discard remaining marinade. Cook chicken thigh on the preheated grill for approximately 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until the juices run clear and there are no signs of pink in the meat.
Enrich the chicken thigh with some honey...let it cook until it turn golden brown..
While waiting for the chicken thigh to be cooked..
You can prepare the bun and the dressings...
Stir-fried some chopped onion with the excess oil and gravy from the cooked chicken thigh.
Remove the chicken thigh from the pan after it turned golden brown. At this very moment, believe me, and u can have my words.... you could by now smell an ..irresistible aromatic scent of the cooked chicken thigh.
This is the shot from the top..
Ta da.. lol.. Done.. Lastly, place some tomatoes and cucumbers for dressings.
For my own record, I jolted down the ingredients and time I took to prepare the burger.
PREP TIME :1 Hr 5 Min
COOK TIME :15 Min
READY IN :1 Hr 20 Min
Ingredients
1 monster bun.
350g skinless chicken thigh.
2 pinches of salts.
1/2 teaspoon of sugar.
1 tablespoon of soy sauce.
1 teaspoon of honey.
1 teaspoon of crushed black pepper.
1 onion, chopped.
2 cloves of garlic.
Dressings
some cucumbers & tomatoes
Time to taste the burger!

Fussed? Zero posting but traffic increased ten fold. Skeptical but true.
In his blog, ANdyStorm was really shocked at the amount of some top blogger earn monthly.
This is what he quoted:
Break-down
Typical Ben earns $200 to $500 a month!
Thy-dowager earns $500 to 2000 a month!!
Princessa earns $1500 to 2000 a month!!!
Dawn Yang earns $4000 to 6000 a month!!!!
Lastly, Xiaxue with 20,000 readers a day can get at least $10000 a week!!!!!
Well, surprise? 20k hits. Not me.
Xiaxue is listed one of the World’s Most Beautiful Blogger by Gobala Khrisnan. There are thousands of viewers that are interested to look at pretty faces. It’s not surprising these beautiful blogger earn their reputation by their beauty.
How can you can get increase in traffic without the need of:
1. Being a hot chick.
2. Posting 24/7.
3. Photos of yourself camwhoring.
One of the ways is by listing your blog in the blog search engine. They are few to list down, blogarama, blogexplosion, blogdex, bloglines and many more.
I've been a fan of Blog Explosion since quite some time ago. This is the service that I'm using to help driving traffic. After using it for a while and saw the effect, I really think that I must share in this blog.
A word of advise, do not think that it "DOESNT HELP" or ‘DOESN’T WORK‘ and stop using it. You have to understand how it works. There were many bloggers signed up for the services but just laid back and waited for traffic to come in - it doesn’t work that way.
How Does It Works?
· First register your blog and wait for it to be approved
· When approved, you must surf other members’ blogs in BlogExplosion
· When you surf, for every blog that you visit, you earn credits (points)
· Sometimes you get bonus credits (randomly - I’ve once got 50 free credits!)
· Then, you use or assign those credits to your blog(s).
· For each credit assigned/used, system will make your blog appear once to other members (1 visitor).
You must visit others blogs in the program, then others will visit your blog. It is fair, isn’t it?
I’d say this is a good tool to get some traffic. But for long term sake, it is still the content and quality of blog that’s important.

Dubai UAE - in my wish list.

For those who do not really know what's going in Dubai now, let me show you that she is undergoing vast developments and spending generously for serious investment in its tourism industries. 20 years back, Dubai is a country which was known only for its oil and deserts... but few years back under the leadership of its ruler, Dubai has been transforming into a very vibrant and modernized city.

Private Island.

In the Internet city. Microsoft and other computer giants are building their new headquarters here.

Along the Zayed Road. The place where you have the best view of Dubai's skyscrapers.

Dubai has also developed an Marina City.

This is the view of the trunk of "The Palm".

The Palm which has already been completed marks the capability of the government to map his country to the whole world. The Palm can easily be seen in Google Earth. Just type in "The Palm" and you can get the image of the island. It is the first artificial Island to be housed by thousands of residents which are mostly rich and famous. And one of them is David Beckham.

Dubai is also in the race to construct the world's tallest building overtake his current rival Taipei 101.

A trip to Vietnam's local park.

It was my last day in Vietnam and I decided to pay a visit to their local park. The park was located estimately 70km from the city. The journey took approximately 1 hour by taxi. About 10a.m I arrived at the jetty, I hopped on a boat for a journey to the park which is just across the river.

My curiosity strikes when, I saw 2 ship with 2 large eyes at it's bow. A Vietnamese- Chinese which we met on the jetty was kind enough to explain to me the reason that a lot of their ships have 2 large eyes. He briefed, "In ancients beliefs, the large eyes are meant to scare away devil fish and clear the way of the ship so that the ship could have a safe journey....."

I was stunned by these special tree. It has papayas, dragon fruits, and surprisingly pineapple too. But after taking a closer look at it... I realised that I was just a bunch of fruits tied to the tree branches.. Creative.. aren't they :)

There were several huts selling locally made products.. such as these shirts and hand bag..

Finally, after several hours of touring I managed to take short break at the rest house. The tourists and guests were entertained with their local dance and music. The singers are dressed in their traditional costumes which have some similarities in design with the Chinese traditional costume "Cheong Sam".

We were also served with traditional Glutinous Rice. The red is sweet while the white one is salty. I personally prefer the white one. It's made with salted butter but the red ones are stuffed with sweet red banana.

One of Vietnam's main export are their dried snacks. I had a chance to taste their dried jack fruit, dried mangoes and dried nuts in the park. Nowadays, these dried fruits and vegetables are available locally in our supermarket.

Beez! These soldiers of bees are farmed for their honey.

You can also have a sip of honey which is produced by the bees. It tasted so fresh and amazingly flavoured like longan. I was explained that the honey that were produced by the bees altered differently according to each season. The honey that I sipped tasted like longan simply because it was longan season.

Besides liquid honey, dried nectars were also sold in the park. I had purchased several packets of dried nectar of longan flowers for my families and friends. It was believed by the local, especially for women to keep their skin tender and prevent skin age-ing and improve health.
